Where to grab a cold beer in New York City, NY

The Tripleseat team just came back from exhibiting at the NY State Craft Brewers Guild Conference. It was a fun-filled two days of connecting and learning from many local breweries and some who flew in for the special occasion.

The passion and community building that we saw among New York brewing neighbors was inspiring. Overhearing brewers share tips with other brewers, complimenting each other's spaces, and the overall sense of comradery with no air of competition is something all breweries should aspire to be.

The New York City brewery scene is definitely one that continues to grow and is worth checking out.

Here are eight brewhouses in Clevland to check out the next time you’re looking for a place to unwind with a craft beer and a few good friends.

Fort Hamilton Distillery

Fort Hamilton Distillery

Located in the heart of historic Brooklyn, Fort Hamilton Distillery prides itself on crafting award-winning spirits inspired by New York's rich history. Founded in 2016 by Alex Clark and Amy Grindeland, Fort Hamilton Distillery was born out of Alex's passion for crafting a cocktail made with the original style of rye that would have been found in NY before prohibition.

The distillery is located in Brooklyn, and Fort Hamilton played a pivotal role in many key moments in American history, from the Revolutionary War to World War II. Alex and Amy saw the opportunity to transform this historic place into the brand of an innovative distillery that pays homage to Brooklyn's spirited past through its line of vodka, gin, whiskeys, and more.

Fort Hamilton Distillery's small-batch spirits are crafted using locally sourced ingredients and proprietary recipes. Each spirit aims to capture the essence of Brooklyn's history and character. The tasting room gives visitors a direct experience with Fort Hamilton Distillery's award-winning spirits and the rich history that influenced each recipe.

Fort Hamilton Distillery is located at 68 34th Street on the 2nd Floor of Industry City Building 6 in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn. The distillery and tasting room are conveniently located just steps from the 36th Street N, R & D subway stop, making it easy to access via public transportation.
